Tootie Victorious!

Randy moved all-in from the small blind and Tootie called with KcQh. Randy was live, but behind with his Jh-8h.

The board ran out Ah-Ks-4h-7d-6s and Randy failed to hit his flush and had to settle for second this week.

Doesn't our champion look thrilled?

Can Randy do it again?

Granted, he has quite a bit of a chip disadvantage to overcome, but keep in mind he was short-stacked for the majority of last week's final table.

Here are the chip counts:

Randy - 14.5K
Tootie - 50K

Tristan out in 3rd

Tristan's open-ended straight draw couldn't hit and Tooties top pair held to eliminated Tristan in 3rd place.

Blinds Up

700/1400

Big Rivers

Randy and Tristan just got it AIPF in a blind vs. blind confrontation with Tristan holding A8 to Randy's K9.

The flop came A-10-5, putting Tristan in the lead. The turn was a J, giving Randy a Broadway straight draw. The river was a brutal queen, which gave Randy the pot and doubled up to 16K. Tristan was left with 3.4K.

The next hand Tristan moved all in from the button with Ad-2d and Tootie called in the big lind with 56. The 5-6-10 flop looked good for Tootie, but Tristan picked up some hope with a 3 on the turn. The 4 one the river made a straight for him and gave him some new hope.

Tim bubbles

The mullet was no good against Tristan's A8 and Tim is out in 4th.

Tim Could Use That Triple Up

He is down to a mere 3,200 chips.

Toot Toot

Tootie continues to make boats with 3-7.

Yawn

Brandy Out

in 5th. Helllooooooo money bubble.

Ahoy Shipwreck, your high hand is no good!

Tootie raised to 3.3K on the button and Tristan called from the big blind. The flop came Ah-Ac-Qd and both players checked. The turn was the As and Tristan bet 2.3K. Tootie tanked for a minute and called. The river was the 8h and Tristan checked. Tootie bet 8K and Tristan reluctantly called with pocket jacks for aces full. Tootie flipped up AK for quad aces and the new high hand.

Blinds Up!

500/1000. Action still slow like snails on a leisurly stroll.

Brandy the Short Stack

She is sitting on 4.7K

Tristan Doubles Thru Tootie

No idea how it happened. Must have gotten distracted by something shiny.

Interesting....

Tristan raised to 2.4K from the button, leaving himself 4.4K behind and Brandy called from the big blind, leaving herself 5.5K behind. The flop came Kc-Kd-8d and Brandy checked to Tristan, who moved all-in.

Brandy thought for a while before folding what she claimed was A-8 and Tristan, to no one's surprise, revealed pocket aces.

Tristan Flops Miracle--Doubles Up

It folded around to Tim in the small blind, who raised to 2.4K. Tristan moved all-in for 3.8K total and Tim called with As10s. Tristan was behind with Jc8h.

He was behind that is, until the flop came 10-9-7. Straight held and Tristan doubled up, but continues to be in crisis mode.

Joe D Busto

Tootie just took out another one when his AK won the AIPF showdown versus Joe D's pocket eights. 5 players left yo

Blinds Up

Tim Pulls a Fast One

Brandy limped in early position and Tootie raised to 1.6K total. Tim quickly moved all-in for 6.3K more and Brandy folded, frustrated she couldn't see a flop with her Q10 (good fold Brandy, remember my pledge to shame anyone who plays those types of hands)

Tootie thought for a minute or so before deciding to fold what he claimed was A-8. Tim flashed KdJd and laughed maniacally.

And Our Short Stack is...

Tristan with 4.2K.

Tootie appears to be our chip leader with a pile of chips that is bigger than everyone else's.

Allison Tootied

Tootie (pictured) just outflopped Allison's pocket eights with 3-7 on a flop of 7-3-3

3-7 makes boats.

She's out in 7th place.

Payouts!

1st - $235
2nd - $120
3rd - $40

Action Fast and Furious

Randy doubled up, Chris J (pictured) eliminated by Tootie

Meredith Out

Your eyes don't deceive you, this is Meredith, not Rachel.

She just went out in 9th place, but has kindly stuck around to deal.

In the meantime, Chet has offered a bounty on whoever eliminates Tootie.

Final Table

Blinds at 300/600.

Shipwreck Washes Ashore

Patrick "Shipwreck" K moved all-in from the button for his last 1.8K and Tim called in the big blind. Tim held 5s7s while Patrick had Qd-Js (keep in mind he had three big blinds...please do not try this with a decent stack like some other poker geniuses in the world.

Tim spiked a 5 on the 10-8-5 flop, but the 9 on the turn gave Patrick the straight and the pot. Patrick moved all-in again the next hand for 3.9K and Tim re-raised all-in from the button. Tim was behind once again holding A-Q to Patrick's pocket queens, but an A in the window of the flop sent Patrick packing in 11th place.

At the other table, Chet was eliminated in 10th place and decided to react by calling the pot's winner, Tootie, a "pig f***er". Just cause you changed it up a bit doesn't mean it won't hurt a person's feelings you know.

An Etiquette Lesson

This lesson in manners has been brought to you by Tootie.

It is not nice to call someone a "f***ing pig".

That means you Chet....

Allison Doubles Up

Allison (pictured) just doubled up with pocket jacks to Joe's A-Q.

What do you guys think? Medium-sized pictures or back to the small ones?

Polar Opposites

We went from the standard raise being 15 times the blind to the standard raise being 2 times the blind.

People. There *IS* a happy medium

Brandy v Randy

Despite both being fairly short stacked (with 3.5k and 4k respectively) Meredith and Brandy limped in from under the gun and UTG + 1 respectively. Tim completed the small blind and Randy (pictured) checked his option.

The players checked around on the flop and the turn as the board ran out As-Kh-7s-3d. When the 7h fell on the river, Randy moved all-in for 2,300 and Brandy called. Both showed.........

7-4, for trip sevens.

The very next hand, Randy and Patrick K got it all-in with Randy's pocket jacks racing against Patrick's K-Q. The board ran out A-8-3-5-J and Randy rivered a set to double to just over 5K.

Brandy's Musings

Patrick "Shipwreck" K raised under the gun to 1,000 and Brandy (pictured) thought before saying "I think you have pocket eights" and folded.

"If you thought I had pocket eights, I wish you would have called," Patrick responded.

"I just said something to say something since everyone else does," Brandy explained.

Break Time

Rachel (picture) just missed the break and was eliminated in 13th place. The remaining twelve players will return from their 15 minute break to blinds of 200/400.

Paul Lea Out

As he (pictured) put it, "he got Tootied by Tootie."

A Warning Has Been Issued

"Guys, I am especially irritated by Q-J tonight, so here is a warning to you all. I will make fun of you on the blog if you play it like it is a real hand."

-Jessica D. Welman

Blinds Up

150/300

Self Loathing Blogger 3 outed three times in a row.

In an attempt to keep myself from getting too bitter and critical, I am amusing myself by playing turbo SNGs on FTP. I have busted out of 2 already, getting it all-in with wayyyyy the best hand all three times with Ak vs A2 and AJ vs. QJ and AJ vs. QJ again. Obviously big aces will never win and my plan has backfired and made me even more tilty than I already was.

Blergh. Here is the Sharkscope of the latest Mensa candidate who was brain dead enough to stack off with Q-J

You Aren't Cool Unless You Make Queens Full

we've had several players fill up with a queen in their hand over at the UK table. Apparentlly all the cool kids are doing it.

Oh...

blinds up 100/200

Oh Shipwreck

Patrick "Shipwreck" K (pictured) is trying to coin nicknames with little success.

"It's on the Randinator," he said.

The whole table stopped what they were doing and furrowed their brows.

"I don't think that is gonna stick," Randy replied.

The "D" Must Stand for Double Up

In a multi-way limped pot, the flop came 9s-8c-5c and Chris J fired 200 from early position. A player called, Joe D (pictured) called, and Tootie check-raised to 1,200 total from the small blind. It folded around to Joe D, who moved all-in for 125 more, which Tootie quickly called.

Tootie showed 9c8s for top two pair while Joe held Jh10c for an open-ended straight draw. The turn was the 2s and the river came 7d to make Joe a straight and double him up.

Jay Out

After a valiant effort and picking up the blinds with a couple of all-in raises, Jay (pictured) was eliminated when his all-in with A-10 was called by Patrick "Shipwreck" K who held pocket jacks. The jacks held and Jay was eliminated.

Dan Gets His Heart Broken

Patrick "Shipwreck" K and Randy limped in and Dan (pictured) moved all-in for 875 total from the small blind. Both players called and saw a flop of As-Ah-Jh. Both players checked and when the 7h came on the turn Randy and Patrick performed a charming synchronized heart check routine. Patrick bet 400 and Randy called. The river was the 3d and Patrick fired 800, which was enough to get Randy to fold his Kh-qd face up.

Before he turned up his hand Patrick told Dan, "I think I got you."

"I think you don't," Dan said as he turned up A-3 for a full house. His happiness was short-lived as Shipwreck showed A-7 for a bigger boat. There are now 14 players remaining, as Kevin "The Baconator" R was eliminated at roughly the same time.

Updates

Blinds 75/150, Chad eliminated.

Paging Jeremy Wood!

Jeremy--your title as the worst player in this series is in serious jeopardy. The play so far has been beyond bizarre with some strange calls and bizarre bluffs. Donde esta Jeremy?

All-In

Others are picking up on Tim's approach and adopting it, meaning that everyone at the UK table just ships it all-in if they hit anything.

Tim's New Strategy

Tim has adopted the "Kill Phil" strategy where he ships it all-in over any raise. Considering the obscene raises and the willingness for people to call with just about whatever makes this strategy surprisingly profitable so far.

Tim Doubles

With aces. Not gonna lie, Tim (pictured) basically turned his cards face-up and declared "I have aces! Call me!"

Jay said to himself, "I have nines! Okay!" and doubled Tim up, leaving himself with around 2,000 chips.

"I still need to triple up though," Tim explained. He has managed to triple up just about every week he plays.

Standard Raise Update

Blinds are up to 50/100 and I was expecting the raises to jump back up to the 800 range, but we might actually be getting back to the way normal, sensible, sane people play cards.

I won't hold my breath that this will continue though.

I am Out

I would go into more detail, but I feel it would be dripping with fasciciousness so I will refrain. Pocket threes good. Whatevs.

Tristan Doubles Up

Several players limped in and Tristan (pictured) raised to 250 from the button. Jay called, I called and we were off to see a flop. The flop came Qc-8d-5d and it checks to Tristan, who bet 450. Jay called and I, who shouldn't have been in the hand in the first place, folded. The turn was the 5h and Jay checked again. Tristan bet 700 and Jay moved all-in, having Tristan covered.

Tristan thought for some time before Tim called the clock on him. He eventually called with pocket nines, which was way ahead of Jay's Kc4c. The river was a 9d, giving Tristan the pot and the current high hand.

300 is the new 375

In a somewhat remarkable yet wholly unsurprising turn of events the standard raise for the 25/50 level has in fact decreased from the Keith-approved standard of 375. The raise is still ridiculously enormous at 300 (six times the blind), but we are nearing closer and closer to sanity.

Sam Goes Over a Cliff

I caught up with this hand on the turn. There were quite a few chips in the pot and the board read 10h-9s-7s-8h and Cliff checked. Sam (pictured) moved all-in for 1,350 and Cliff thought briefly before calling with Ks10s for top pair and a flush draw. Sam held pocket jacks, no spade. The As hit on the river and Cliff scooped the pot and eliminated Sam in 21st place.

Blinds Up!

25/50. Wonder if if people will open raise to 750 now...

The Keith Gaining Popularity

Remember last week when I mocked Keith for the open raise to 375 from 25? You know, the one that was 15 times the blind? Well, apparently "the Keith" is catching on as several players, most notably Jay, have taken to making 375 their standard raise. Even more interesting is how many people flat call the amount without batting an eye.

I apologize Keith, you were right, I was wrong.

PS - Where are you Keith?

Feelin' Randy!

Our defending champion Randy is off to a good start again tonight. He just took down the first pot with aces up.

Cards In the Air!

Wheeeeeee

New Faces For Week 5

We have several members of our regular crew already here and ready to go, but Laurie (Send our regards to Jersey!) and Kevin "Mad Man" Maudsley are noticeably absent. In there place are some people making their MNS debut including Rachel's twin sister Meredith and Paul L.

Cards will be in the air shortly. Stay tuned for all of the action.
