Nobody Can Beat Her Heater

Rachel raised to 4.2K from the small blind and Tootie reraised 5K more, Rachel moved all –in and Tootie quickly called with pocket aces. Rachel showed pocket kings and needed some help, which came in the form of a king on the flop. The turn and river were no help to Tootie and Rachel wins her third tournament in as many tries at Tim’s house. Nobody seems to be able to beat her heater.

She's On a Roll

Rachel has been chipping away so far, winning most pots.

They're In the Money

Tristan raised to 3K on the button and Tootie called from the big blind. The flop came 7h-6s-5c and Tootie checked. Tristan bet 4.5K and Tootie quickly moved all-in. Tristan had just 4.7K more. Tim called clock and Tristan called with Ks9d, which was behind Tootie’s A-8. The turn was another five and the river was a nine, giving Tootie a straight and the pot. Tristan was eliminated in 3rd place and we are now in the money and at heads-up play.

Chip Counts:
Rachel – 26K
Tootie – 34.5K

Wah Wah

There was just a climactic all-in, but turns out both Tristan and Tootie had A-K. Anticlimactic much?

Losing the Minimum

Tristan and Rachel keep either claiming or showing their pocket pairs, yet the pots are remarkably small. Both just limped in with 55 and 66 and managed to lose the bare minimum on the hand.

Tootie Rolled

Tristan folded the button, Rachel completed the small blind, and Tootie (pictured) raised 4K on top. Rachel moved all-in and Tootie quickly called with AK. Rachel showed AJ and needed some help, which she got when the board ran out 9d-3d-2h-Jd-Ac. Rachel doubled up to just around 30K and Tootie fell down to 22K.

Tim Out

Tim moved all-in for his last 4K on the button and Tootie called from the big blind with Jc7c. His cards were live as Tim held Ad6c. The board ran out Qc-Jh-10d-Js-7d and Tootie tripped up again to take the pot and eliminate Tim in 4th place.

Rachel and Toots--At It Again

Tootie raised to 3.3K from under the gun and it folded around to Rachel in the big blind. She called and the two saw a flop of Qs-Qc-6d. Both checked the flop and checked again when the turn came 7h. Rachel checked a third time after the 4h fell on the river and Tootie bet 3K. She called and he showed KsQd for trip queens and the pot.

Chippies!

Blinds are 500/1K. Here are some guestimated chip counts:
Rachel - 19.5K
Tim - 4.7K
Tootie – 22K
Tristan – 15K

King + Kicker = Big Pot

In a limped pot the trio of Tristan (pictured), Tootie, and Randy saw a flop of Kd-10s-4s. They ended up getting it all-in in a monster 3-way pot with each player holding the following:
Randy – KsJh
Tootie – KhQs
Tristan – K10

Tristan’s K-10 held to win the main pot and Tootie’s kicker was enough to give him the small side pot and eliminate Randy in 5th place.

The Streak Ends

Tim limped in early position and Patrick (pictured) moved all-in from the button for 3.3K total. Rachel quickly called out of the small blind and Tim called as well. They checked down as the board ran out Ac-Qd-8c-4c-Kh. Rachel rivered the best hand when her KsQs made 2 pair, besting Patrick’s A-10. Tim showed pocket sevens and seemed a lil annoyed that the luck for the pocket pairs ran out with him.

Another Win For the Pocket Pairs

Randy continued the winning streak for pocket pairs all-in pre when his sevens held against Patrick’s A-8. Patrick is down to 3.6K in chips.

Laurie, Your Ride is Out

Chris J (pictured) was eliminated when he and Tootie had another all-skill no luck all-in preflop extravaganzas. Chris’ AcKc couldn’t catch up to Tootie’s pocket deuces and Tootie added even more to his growing chip stack. Chris is out in 7th place

Randy Doubles

Randy just doubled up when his K-6 outlasted Rachel’s J-10 as the board ran out K-8-3-10-7

Bye Me

I moved in for my last 4,200 and Tootie called. My A-6 was about to lose to his pocket sevens. It lost. I’m out in 8th.

Goodbye Play, It Was Fun While it Lasted

Blinds 400/800

Rachel and Randy Get into a Ruckus

Rachel and Randy just got involved in a raised pot and a board reading 9-9-7-J. Randy fired 1,800 into a several thousand chip pot on the turn and Rachel called. The 5c fell on the river and Randy bet 1,500, leaving only 1,600 behind. Rachel called out of curiosity and it turned out her A-Q had Randy’s A-10 hi outkicked.

Laurie's Still Here

Laurie: What’s your name?
Tristan: Tristan
Tim: Triscuit
Laurie: Triscuit? That’s terrible, you’re not a cracker

Buh Bye Keith

Keith moved all in from under the gun for 4,100 and it folded around with deliberations from Rachel and myself before it got to Tootie in the big blind, who called with AK, which had Keith’s A-6 in sore shape. No six or backdoor draws for Keith and he was eliminated in 9th place.

Blinds Up!

Blinds are 300/600. Jebus.

Double Up!

Chris J just doubled up through Keith with AJ to Keith’s Q-10.

Redneck Vocab Lesson

Tootie just informed us “you’uns” is the plural version of “y’all”

Some Table Talk

Rachel: “You can’t play by yourself Toots”
Tootie: “You haven’t been watching me when I was alone right?”

Tim (pictured) triples up again. Rachel limped from middle position, Joe D raised to 800, Tim called 800 (leaving 3.1K behind), and Rachel called as well. The flop came Ac-Js-3d and Tim checked. Rachel bet 1,200, Joe D quickly moved all in for 3,400, and Tim thought for a few seconds before calling for his tournament life as well. Rachel decided she had to call as well and the three hands are as follows:

Rachel – A8
Joe D – AJ
Tim – Qs10s

The turn was the 3c and the river the 2s, which gave Tim the big ole pot and left Joe with only the 600 chip side pot. Joe was eliminated shortly after that.

Whiff Whiff, Brick Brick

Keith (pictured) just missed everything. And I mean everything. Tristan moved all-in for his last 1,300 and Keith called from the big blind with 9s-10d. He was in a race situation against Tristan’s pocket 3s and picked up even more outs after the flop came K-8-7. Things got even better for Keith with another K on the turn, but he managed to whiff everything with a third king on the river and Tristan doubled up.
He wasn’t done yet though. The next hand Randy limped from middle position and it folded around to Tristen who moved all-in for 2,800 total from the big blind. Randy called with As-10s and Tristen held Ah-Jh. The board ran out Ks-4d-2c-Ac-Js and Tristen doubled up to a healthy (ish) 6K.

Her Hot Streak Continues

Rachel (pictured) just doubled up to 9K after she and Tim got it all-in preflop with Tim holding A-Q to Rachel’s A-K. Will her ridiculously good run continue? Stay tuned as we pretend this is happening live.

That Didn't Take Long

Jason’s KsJs was no match for the all-in preflop showdown throwdown against Joe’s pocket fives—especially after Joe flopped a set. Final table time.

We're Back

Blinds 200/400

Time for a Break

Never Fear, I'm Still Here!

I’m still kickin! Tristan limped from middle position, I limped from the cutoff, Keith folded his small blind, and Joe D checked his option. The flop came Kc-Jc-4d and Joe led for 400. Tristan called and I moved all-in for 2975 more. They both folded, but seemed annoyed they couldn’t see one more card. Oh well = )

Sayanora Paco

Tootie (pictured) raised to 750 from the cutoff and Rachel called from the small blind. Paco then, moved all-in from the big blind for 2275 total and Tootie called. Rachel folded and Paco was in bad shape with pocket threes to Tootie’s pocket aces. The board was no help to him and Paco hit the rail in 12th place.

Sam Slammed

Sam moved all-in from the cutoff for her last 750 and Tristan (pictured) called the extra 450 chips from the big blind. Sam held A-2 which was slightly ahead of Trsitan’s K-3. A king on the flop put Tristen in the lead though and the turn and the river were no help to Sam. She was eliminated in 13th place.

You Know the Drill

Blinds up to 150/300

Jeremy Cannot Defend His Worst Fold of the Night Title

In a blind versus blind confrontation on a flop of Qs-Qc-2h Joe D (pictured) bet 600 from the small blind and Jeremy called from the big blind. After the 2c fell on the turn the two players agreed to go all in. Jeremy turned over Qd-4d and Joe had Ac-Qh.

Displaying a remarkable sense of both confusion and clairvoyance, Jeremy called out “Oh no he’s got me kicked,” even though the duo was chopping at the moment. However, the As on the river gave Joe the bigger boat and eliminated Jeremy in 14th place.

Mmmkkkaaayyyy.....

Overheard at the other table: “shaken monkey syndrome”

Tim Triples

Tim tripled up after he moved all-in and got called by Jason and Jeremy (pictured). After a flop of 10c-3d-2c Jeremy checked and Jason bet 1K. Jeremy folded and Jason confidently turned over his pocket queens—which were crushed by Tims pocket aces. The turn and river came 7d then 6c and Tim tripled up.

A Note

Blinds up 100/200.

Sam Doubles Up

Jeremy raised to 450 in early position and Sam (pictured) moved all-in from the big blind. Jeremy called with KJ and Sam showed pocket 4s. The fours held and she doubled up to just over 2,000 chips.

A New Theory

Jason (pictured) has a theory about the stop sign confusion of last week. There is a yellow sign warning people of the coming stop sign and he thinks Brandy might have been talking about that. Let’s hope so. Drive carefully either way kids.

Gone But Not Forgotten...In Fact, Not Even Gone

Laurie is out in 15th place. Tootie claims it was, “the most exciting hand you’ll ever see.” This blogger is inclined not to believe him.

Laurie is stuck hanging around with us lame-os though because Chris J is her DD for the evening.

Pacohontas

In a multi-way limped pot a bunch of players saw a flop of Jh-9d-6h. Paco (pictured) bet out 600 and it folded around to Patrick K, who called. Paco, thinking everyone had folded , flashed the Ks. What do you think Paco had?

The turn was the 5d and Paco bet 600 again, which Patrick check called. Both checked when 8h fell on the river. Patrick had Ah2h and Paco held…KsQd. Good try Paco, good try.

Deja Move

Chris J was at it again, this time versus Chet (pictured). Chet moved all-in on a board reading Qh-10s-8h-Ac-Kh and Chris quickly called with 5h7h for a flush, while Chet held Qs8c for just 2 pair. Chet’s out the door and, amazingly, never drank a beer while he was here.

Blinds Up

Blinds up to 75/150. 17 players still left.

Making Moves

Chris J. moved all-in for 950 in a large pot with the board reading Ad-6d-3d-7s-9s and Tootie thought some time before folding.

Oops

Patrick Dieters (pictured) just called to ask if he could get in tonight’s event.. Well played Baby Shrek.

Monkey in the Middle

Another gem from Laurie (pictured): “I never touched his monkey. Its not my monkey.”

In response, Pat Kelley yelled out: “Jessica, the monkey is in the bubble.”

Clearly I am at the wrong table today.

I Never Said I Was Smart

Apparently reading is not required to be a blogger. I just misread my hand to be a straight when it fact it was a pair of eights. Oops.

An Ode to Mexico

Laurie just called out “Thank Lord for tequila”. Context was not provided.

Money Money

Payouts for tonight are as follows:
1st - $250.00
2nd - $65.00

Here's a First

Chet claims he is not drinking tonight. We phoned Satan and he isn’t ice skating, but we will keep our eye on the sky for flying pigs.

Mad Man Mauled

Kevin “Mad Man” M. was eliminated when Tootie moved all in on a board reading Ac-Jh-6d-10c-Qs and Kevin called with A-10. Tootie held K-10 for the rivered straight and won the pot.

In honor of poor Kevin's demise, here are a select few quotations from tonight about our dear friend:

“Kevin’s like Tom Petty, he’s running down a dream” – Jeremy

“Kevin what exactly are you trying to do?” – Tootie

“I couldn’t even give you a narrative of what Kevin has done in the last 25 minutes.” – Tootie

We Begin

Due to technical difficulties Week 2 of the MNS will be blogged—but not live. Stoopid internet. Cards are in the air and 17 players are in the running for the title of Week 2 Champion.

Technical Difficulties

For all of you waiting with breathless anticipation for last night's results, I apologize. We had a few technical difficulties and were unable to live blog the event. Thankfully, I do have posts on last night's tournament, so I am going to put them up now and we can all just pretend that they went up yesterday when they were supposed to...mmmkay? Mmmkay!
