Randy Doubles

Allison and Paco limped in and Randy moved all-in from the small blind for 1.1K more. Allison flat called, which was enough to scare Paco into folding. It was a race situation with Allison holding pocket sixes to Randy's AcJc. Randy flopped an ace but the board came A-x-x all hearts with Allison holding the six of hearts. Randy had a sweat on his hands, but he managed to fade hearts on the turn and the river to double up to 5K or so.

Baconeutered

Keith raised to 900 and Kevin "Baconator" R moved all-in for 2.8K total. It folded around to Keith who obliged by calling with J-9. He was slightly behind Kevin's A-10...until the flop came 9-9-3. Kevin was elimanted and we are left with 8.

Jason and Kevin Clash Again

Jason just doubled up when he moved all-in for his last 2.7K and Kevin "Baconator" R called. Jason held pocket tens to Kevin's AK and the tens held to double Jason up.

Denise Doubles

Denise has been movin all-in every few hands for between 4 and 5K with the blinds at 150/300. Keith finally got fed up and called her with pocket sixes only to run right into her pocket kings. She doubled up to around 10K and Keith still has plenty of chips to work with.

Shipwreck....

... has been eliminated. At the hands of Keith. Who now has so many chips I am not even going to bother to count them because a "bajillion" is a sufficient estimate in my mind.

Here's a Doozie

With the blinds at 75/150 Patrick "Shipwreck" K raised to 600 under the gun and Keith moved all-in right behind him for over 5K more. Tootie tanked for a minute, stood, paced, and moved all-in as well. Patrick thought for a minute or two before folding and it was time to see the hands:

Keith had a fairly good holding of pocket nines, but they were way behind Tootie's pocket queens. The flop came 10h-6c-3h, the turn was the Jc and the river was a brutal 9c to give Keith a set and the enormous pot. He had Tootie just barely covered so Tootie was eliminated and Keith took a ginongous chip lead.

Sayanora Sam

Sam moved all-in from late position for her last 1,425 with the blinds at 75/150.

It folded around to Keith in the big blind who had a pretty hefty pile of chips. He decided to put them to use by calling with Q-9 off suit. Sam held KJ and was ahead for the moment, but the Q-8-2 flop left Sam drawing slim. The board ran out J-7 and Sam was eliminated.

Jack Chet

In a multi-way limped pot with a flop of Denise led out from under the gun for 800 into a pot of 400 or so. Chet moved all-in for 1,625 more and Denise again thought a while before calling with Kc4c for top pair with the nut flush draw. Chet was ahead for the moment with Ks-10d.

But the Ac on the turn left Chet drawing dead. He was eliminated and Denise increased her already sizeable chip stack.

Tim Totaled

With the blinds at 50/100 Denise raised to 600 in early position and Tim moved all-in for 1,125 total. Denise thought. For a while. She then decided to call the extra 525 with pocket eights, which were racing against Tim's A-K. The board ran out 6-6-5-3-7 and the eights held to eliminate Tim early in Level 2.

Sorry bout the delay kids, but we are off and running. Blinds are currently at 75/150 and we have lost two players so far. Their bustout hands are coming momentarily.

Jason Picks Up Win #2

It was all said and done after the first hand of heads-up play when Kevin raised to 3K from the small blind and Jason called. The flop came Kc-10s-4h and Jason checked. Kevin bet 5K, Jason moved all-in and Kevin quickly called.

Ok, again here is where I am clearly losing my mind because I didn't bother to write down what either player had. I think Kevin had like a K6 while Jason had K-10 and his two pair held to give him the win.

Shipwreck vs. Baconator

With the blinds at 500/1K Patrick moved all-in from the button for his final 6.6K. Jason moved all-in over the top of him from the small blind and Kevin folded.

Patrick's pocket fives were way behind Jason's pocket kings and the board was no help to him, so he wasw eliminated in 3rd place.

Kevin "Mad Man" M and Jason got it all-in preflop with Jason holding pocket jacks to Kevin's pocket queens. Things looked good for a Mad Man double up, but the board ran out K-10-9-X-Q to give Jason a straight and the pot.

Kevin was eliminated in 8th place.

Tootie Shipwrecked

Tootie and Patrick "Shipwreck" K got it all-in preflop with Tootie holding pocket nines to Patrick's AK. Patrick spiked an ace on the flop and a king on the turn and Tootie was eliminated in 9th place.

In a multiway limped pot the flop came 8d-7c-6d and both Kevins checked to Jason who bet 600 and then both Kevins called.

The turn was the 5d and Kevin M checked again. Kevin R bet 1.6K and Jason folded. Kevin M thought a while before folding 7-9 (for a nine-hi straight) face up. We all sat in stunned silence while Kevin R turned up Ah-5h for a pair of fives.

By the 100/200 level Jason made, I kid you not, four full houses. MBN.

Cliff Out

Blinds were 75/150 and Cliff limped in under the gun. Chet moved all-in from middle position for his last 1.5K and Cliff called with pocket tens, which were trailing Chet's pocket kings.

The kings held and Cliff was eliminated.

Jacks No Good This Time

Tim raised to 400 from the cutoff and I reraised to 1,100 total from the small blind. He moved all-in and I quickly called with my pocket aces. Tim turned over pocket jacks and said what we all were already thinking:

"The jacks are gonna win"

The flop? Oh, just Q-J-3. Imagine that.

Here is where things get bananas though. The turn is a K, so I actually have more outs now. The river? Ace! No way! So Tim is out in 13th place and I end up with around 8.5K chips.

TPFKATMW Takes One

With the blinds at 50/100 Chet raised to 300 from under the gun. Tim called from the big blind and the two saw a flop of Qc-10s-5c. Tim checked, Chet bet 600, and Tim moved all-in for 1.35K more. Chet thought a while before folding his pocket aces face up. Tim showed pocket jacks and raked the pot.

Equipment Issue

Chet raised out of the small blind, which was enough to put Joe all-in for his last 4.5K. Joe held 3-10 while Chet had pocket nines. The nines held and Joe was eliminated in 3rd place.

Tim Doubles Again

Joe limped from the button, Tim completed the small blind, and Chet raised to 8K total from the big blind. Joe folded, leaving 7.5K behind and Tim decided it was tim to "eff" it and called off his last 5.5K with J-4.

Chet held A-3, which couldn't hold after Tim flopped a jack. He doubled up to around 15K and Joe is our short stack.

Samantha completed the small blind and Tim checked his option in the big. The flop came 7c-5h-3h and Sam checked to Tim, who moved all-in for his last 4K.

Sam turned to me and said, "I have a pair and a flush draw. What would you do?"

I promptly hid my face while she deliberated and eventually called with 3-4. Tim was ahead with his Q-5 and the board ran out 5-8 to give him the pot and double him up to around 10K.

Chet Makes a Big Call

On a flop of Ac-Kd-2d Samantha bet 1.4K from the small blind, Tim called from the big blind, and Chet called from under the gun.

The turn was the 4c and Samantha led out for 4.8K. Tim folded, leaving 4K in his stack and Chet called. The river was another 4 (not a diamond) and Sam fired 6K.

"You have A-4 don't you?," Chet asked. He laughed at Sam's reaction, thought for a couple of minutes and called.

"Good call," said Sam and she mucked her cards.

"I have an ace," Chet said. He then finished counting out his 6K river call, placed it in the middle of the table, and then raked back the entire pot.

Sam Doubles Again

Undeterred by the chopped pot the previous hand, Joe raised to 4K and Sam moved all-in on the button for 5.9K more. Joe called with pocket nines and he was racing against Sam's A-Q. The K-K-5 flop looked good for Joe, but the A on the turn gave Sam the lead and the pot. She now has 20K or so while Joe dropped to just over 9K.

A Lot of Hype for Nothing

Joe raised to 3K on the button and Tim AKA TPFKATMW moved all-in for 4.7K more in the big blind. Joe called and had Tim in bad shape with AK to Tim's A-6. However, the board ran out 10-5-5-10-2 and the two split the pot with two pair, ace kicker.

Chet Keeps Betting

After moving all-in preflop and applying pressure in several post-flop situations, Chet has now built up his stack to 27.1K in chips. Joe is his next closest competitor with 14K.

The money bubble has slowed play down, as usual, and I am watching my hope of being out of here before 11pm fading into the distance.

Joe's pair of tens were good and Randy was eliminated in 8th place.

Tristan Out

A short-stacked Tristan moved all-in for his last 1,200 and a monster stacked Joe D called. Tristan's Ad-3h was slightly ahead of Joe's Kd-Js and things were looking up for Tristan as the board ran out 10s-5s-2h-10h, but the Ks on the river sent the pot Joe's way and eliminated Tristan in 9th place.

In a multi-way limped pot the flop came 4-7-8 rainbow and Rachel and Sam entangled in a war of aggression that resulted in Sam being all-in holding 5-6 for a flopped straight while Rachel had pocket fours for bottom set. The board failed to pair and Rachel was left with around 2K in chips while Sam increased her already substantial chip stack.

Joe D Silences the Mad Man

On a board reading Ac-2c-2s Joe D and Kevin "Mad Man" M got in a raising war that ended when Kevin moved all-in and Joe reluctantly called thinking his AdKd was behind AQ.

Turned out he had Kevin's A-10 outkicked and Kevin was eliminated.

This occurred after Denise flopped the nut flush only for Patrick to deal the turn and river to put a backdoor straight flush on the board. To make matters worse, it doesn't count for the high hand because one of the cards in their hand has to play in order for it to count.

Baconation

In a multi-way limped pot, several players saw a flop of 8h-7d-2c. Rachel bet out 350 from the big blind and it folded to Kevin R, who moved all-in for 700 total. Everyone else folded and Rachel called with A-7.

She was ahead for the moment as Kevin held 9-10 for the open ended straight draw. The 6 on the turn completed his straight and Rachel caught another seven on the river, but her trips were no match for his straight.

Kevin Squared

Kevin "The Baconator" raised to 150 in middle position and Kevin "Mad Man" M quickly made it 300 behind him. Everyone else folded while Kevin R elected to call.

The flop came K-J-3 and Kevin R led out for 400. Kevin M called. Both check when the second king fell on the turn and checked again after a blank on the river. Kevin R turned up J-3, or as folks around these parts call it, the Ernie, for a counterfeited two pair. Kevin M showed A-J for kings and jacks with an ace, which was good enough to win the pot.

Rachel Shows Em Who's Boss

Rachel limped in from under the gun, Dan Wu raised to 150, and Kevin M. called. Tootie and I completed from the blinds and Rachel called as well.

The flop came Ks-10s-4d and it checked to Dan who bet 400. Kevin "Mad Man" M quickly called, Tootie called, I folded, and Rachel check-raised all-in for 3K more. Dan and Kevin folded with relative ease, but Tootie thought for quite a while before folding what he claimed was K-10.

She managed to spike a J on the turn to take the lead and the pot. Chad is the new short stack at the table.

In a raised pot on a flop of 7-7-X Patrick checked and Chad quickly moved all-in. Patrick quickly called with A-7, which was way ahead of Chad's A-8. Chad is down under the 9K mark and Patrick appears to be our chip leader.

Jason is Alive and Well

Jason just moved all-in on the button for his last 7,200 and Allison tanked in the big blind before calling with pocket nines. This girl was not feeling the nines and I guess she is clairvoyant cause here is what happens:

Jason has K-10 and the window card is a 10. The flopped pair of tens held and Allison lost about half her stack.

She just moved all-in for her last 3.5K or so from the button and Chad called out of the small blind. Allison held pocket sevens while Chad held Ad-10d. The board ran out Qc-9h-8h-Kd-9c and the sevens held to double her up.

My Brain Hurts

So Chris E minraised from the hijack. Chad called on the button, Patrick called in the small blind, and Jason called in the big.

There is some sort of betting on the 10s-7d-2d flop. Chris bet again when the 7c came on the turn. Chad moved all-in and Chris tanked.

Now. There is a good 11K in the pot and Chris would be left with only 4K if he folded. Yet somehow, he did and Chad took the pot.

Jeremy Has to Get Up Early

Which I guess explains why he moved all-in over the top of Chris E's raise with Qs10s. Chris called with pocket aces, which held to eliminate Jeremy in 6th place.

Jeremy "just" limped in in middle position. Chris E "just called" on the button. Allison "just" completed. Chad "just" raised to 1.8K total from the big blind.

Jeremy called. Everyone else folded. Both players checked the flop and turn as the cards came Kh-9s-8h-9h. When the Kd came on the river Chad bet 2K and Jeremy thought a minute and called. Chad showed pocket queens, Jeremy mucked and Chad took the pot.

On a flop of J-6-5 Paco moved all-in and Chris E called.

"I have my favorite hand," said Paco.

We all watched him turn up Kd-4d, which was a touch behind Chris' pocket aces.

Oh Jeremy.....

So Chet (pictured), you know, the guy who never plays a hand? He raised to 1K in early position. It folds around to Patrick "Shipwreck" K, you know, the guy who calls a whole heap of raises? He called.

Jeremy was in the big blind and moved all-in for almost 3K more.

"F**k it," Chet said. "I'm all-in." He had about as much as Jeremy.

Patrick thought for a minute and, unsurprisingly, called.

Here is what they had:

Oh yeah. Ks10s. To make matter worse, it won. The board ran out Q-10-2-9-5 and his pair of tens were good enough to eliminate Chet and take the pot.

Perhaps Jeremy is a member of the "push and pray" school of poker. Or the "I just had a feeling" school of poker. Either way, it appears to be working for him tonight.

Randy Out, Allison Up

Jeremy raised to 1,100 in middle position and Randy moved all-in for his last 375 behind him. Allison then moved all-in for 1,875 total. Jeremy decided he "had odds", but failed to specify exactly what those odds were before he called with Kc9c.

Allison held pocket aces while Randy had A-10. The board ran out Q-Q-9-Q-2 to give Allison a full house, eliminated Randy, and deliver a big blow to Jeremy's chip stack.

AJ Not Handy for Randy

Randy raised in late position and a short-stacked Paco moved all-in right behind him. Randy called with A-J and appeared to be in good shape versus Paco's A-4. Until the flop contained a 4.

And another 4 came on the turn.

Paco doubled up and Randy is left with just a couple hundred chips.

Allison Gets Evil and Doubles Up

Allison moved all-in for her last 900 on the button and Tootie called from the small blind. Allison showed pocket sixes and Tootie turned up K-J.

"This is for Jessica," he proclaimed.

The board ran out 10-7-2-10-6 and Allison filled up on the river and doubled up.

Oh. Okay.

I just donated a good 6,000 chips to the Charity of Jason when we got in a raising war preflop with me holding pocket kings to his pocket aces. No miracle king and I was left with 250 chips.

Never fear dear readers (and Tim!) I am hanging in there. I doubled up the next hand and have moved in a few more times since then to build my stack up to 1,325. Although, I am pretty sure we all know I am only being given the illusion I am still in this thing so it will hurt more when I actually get knocked out.

Let's hope I am wrong...

Two in One Swoop

With around 1,300 in the pot already and the board reading Ks-9d-4c-8s Cliff checked in the small blind, Keith bet 200 from the big blind, and Patrick "Shipwreck" K raised to 600 total from middle position.

The aggression fest didn't stop there though. Cliff then check-raised all-in for 1,600 total. Keith thought for quite a while before he moved all-in over the top of Cliff's bet for 1,825. Patrick didn't deliberate long before he called.

Here's what everyone had:
Cliff - Kh4s - two pair, kings and fours
Patrick - Kc8d - two pair, kings and eights
Keith - 6s9s - flush draw

The river was the Ad and Patricks kings and eights were enough to take the monster pot and eliminate two players in the process.

Cliff Hits a Skiff

With the blinds at 50/100 Allison limped in from under the gun and Cliff raised to 300 total from under the gun plus one. It folded around to me in the small blind and I called. Patrick "Shipwreck" K called from the big blind and Allison came along as well.

The flop came Ah-7d-4h and it checked to Cliff, who bet 700. I raised to 1,600 total and Patrick and Allison quickly folded. I had around 1,500 behind and appeared to have Cliff covered. He thought for a while and folded.

"Did you have pocket fours Jess?," asked Keith.

"Sounds like someone is going to have to check the blog," I responded.

Story Time with Sam

Here is the story of how Samantha got knocked out:

"I was on the dealer button and several players limped in, including Chad from under the gun. I raised to 450 total and Chad looks at me funny for a little while and then he called. Tootie called as well. The flop came 8-6-3 (I think) and they both check. I go all-in for 1875.

Chad says, 'I think you have ace queen and calls.' With 5-6.

5-6."

Samantha turns over her pocket aces after Tootie folded. The turn was a queen and the river....a six.

Shipwrecked!

On a K-K-7-8-6 board Allison made what she thought was a value bet on the river with her KJ only to get raised by Patrick "Shipwreck" K. She reluctantly called and he showed K-7 for a flopped full house.

Week 9 is underway with 17 players and some noticeable absences. Tim "TPFKATMW" is out of town, so the Baconator is running the show. Mad Man and Tootie are MIA as well, which means we may be running short on quippy quotes for the blog this week.

Jason Wins!

Our final two got it all-in preflop in a classic race situation with Sam holding Kh-10c to Jason's pocket eights. The board ran out As-8h-4s-Kh-10c to give Jason a set, the pot, and first prize.

A Rare Flop.

Sam raised to 4K from the small blind and Jason called. The flop came K-7-3 all diamonds and Jason checked. Sam moved all-in, Jason did a diamond check, then folded.

Jason Doubles. Don't Worry Sam, It Was the Right Call

Jason moved all-in from the small blind for his last 9.5K and Sam called with Ad7s. Jason held Kh10d. The flop hit Jason in the face, coming 10h-5h-3h. Sam picked up a double gutted straight draw with the 4d on the turn, but the 8c on the river sent the pot Jason's way and doubled him up.

Sam completed the small blind and Jason raised to 4K total, leaving only 6K or so behind. The flop came Kd-Qc-5s, Jason moved all-in, and Sam folded.

The next hand Sam put Kevin all-in with Qs-7c while Kevin preferred to wait until the river to turn over his cards.

The flop came As-4s-2s and the Ks left Kevin needing 3s5s and only 3s5s to win and double up. He turned over a black 3 first, but it was the 3c. His other card was a meaningless Kc and Kevin was eliminated in 3rd place.

Kevin's been trying his darndest to double up from 5.4K, but he either picks up unplayable hands or gets no action on his all-ins.

Which is why we are watching the all-Asia final of the World Baseball Classic. The remaining three players are amusing themselves by making fun of the names of the various players. Because our inner five year-olds have taken control and when we hear a player's name that sounds quite a bit like "Bung Hole Lee", we can't help but laugh.

The board ran out 3h-2h-2d-9c-9h and Sam eliminated Tim in 5th place.

She wasn't done though. The very next hand she knocked Mad Man out for his remaining chips. We're now on the money bubble.

Jason Doubles Up

Jason minraised to 800 from under the gun and Kevin "Mad Man" M reraised to 2K total. It folded around to Jason and he moved all-in for 2.4K more. Kevin called only to discover his KcQc was way behind Jason's AhAd.

Jason had a sweat on his hands when the flop came 9c-3c-3d, but the As on the turn gave him a boat and left Kevin drawing dead. Kevin was left with only 700 chips.

Samantha moved all-in for her last 1,950, Kevin "Mad Man" M called, and then Tim moved all-in for 2.75K more. Kevin thought for a while, concluded he was pot-commited and called with his pocket sevens. Sam held QsJc and both of them were crushed by Tim's AsAc.

Then the board ran out:

Qc-10s-8d....Qh-Ks.

Sam made trip queens to take the main pot while Tim's aces held for the side. Kevin M is the big loser on the hand, while Tim only took a 200 chip hit after Sam's triple up.

A Family Fight

I missed some of the action because I was transcribing that bananas hand, but on a flop of 10d-10h-7c Kevin "Mad Man" M and Randy AKA Human Vessel for the Spirit of Jebediah Maudsley moved all-in for 750 over Kevin's bet. Mad Man called with 9d8s for an open-ended straight draw and Randy held 10c9s for trip tens. Randy was able to fade the turn when it came Ah, but the Jh on the river gave Kevin his straight and knocked Randy/Jebediah out in 6th place.

A Big Ole Hand

I missed some of this, but here is the best I can piece together:

The blinds were up to 100/200 and Rachel was all-in for her last 200 chips. Joe, Meredith and Kevin R were all in the pot. The flop came 10s-6d-4d and Kevin led out for 700. Joe moved all-in for 1,000 more, and Meredith thought before calling with around 4.5K behind. Kevin then moved all-in and Meredith decided she was pot committed and called. Here is who held what:

Rachel - Qc-10c for top pair, queen kicker
Meredith - Jd9d for flush draw
Joe D - Ac10h for top pair, top kicker
Kevin R - Ad10d for top pair, top kicker, and the nut flush draw.

Rachel moved all-in for her last 1,225 and Joe D called with his last 1,025. Rachel was clearly unhappy to turn her hand over and meekly revealed her 10c6c. She was live against Joe's AdKh. The board got progressively scarier for Joe as it ran out Jc-5d-4s-3d, but the As on the river gave him top pair and the pot, leaving Rachel with only 200 chips.

Poultergeist Strikes Again

Blinds have been 75/150 for a while.

Tim "TPFKATMW" and Kevin "The Baconator" R limped in late position, Jason completed the small blind, and Randy raised to 475 more. Tim called and the two saw a flop of Qd-6d-5c. Randy bet 475 and Tim quickly moved all-in for nearly 5,000 more. Randy only had about 3K and thought for a minute before folding 4-7 offsuit faceup.

Perhaps Randy has been possessed by some sort of distant and deceased relative of everyone's favorite Mad Man, Kevin M. For all we know, Kevin had a great-great-great uncle Jebediah Maudsley who befuddled poker players in the Wild West with his intriguing card-playing style....

King Kevin

On a K-J-5 flop of all hearts Meredith bet 600 and everyone else folded except Kevin "Mad Man" M in the big blind. The turn was the 3c and, after a strange outburst from Randy (whom we can only guess folded pocket threes), Kevin checked, Meredith bet 800, and Kevin called. The river was the 7h and both players checked.

"I check, you flusher," said Meredith.

Turned out Kevin didn't have a flush, but he did hold Kc10c for top pair, which turned out to be good enough. After a quick heart check, Meredith mucked her hand and Kevin scooped the pot.

Rachel Doubles Up

Rachel moved in from under the gun for her last 750 and Kevin "Mad Man" M elected to call with his pocket sixes. Rachel held Ad-8h and managed to flop both an ace and an eight to take the pot and double up to 1.6K or so.

Randy Possessed By Demon with a Penchant for Bluffing

Kevin M, Tim, and Meredith all limped in and Randy raised to 275 total. All three players called and the quartet saw a flop of As-10d-8h. It checked to Randy and he bet 275. Tim was the only one who opted to call. The turn was the 8d and Tim check-called another bet of 275 from Randy. The board double-paired with the 10c on the river and both players checked.

"I'm playing the board," Randy said as he turned up his Qd-5d. Qd5d!!! Didn't see that one coming....

Tim turned up 7-9 for an open-ended straight draw that didn't get there and the two players split the pot.

Ladies' Night

With the blinds at 25/50 (Tim forgot to restart the clock so players are getting an extra long second level), Sam raised to 250 total from middle position and Meredith called from the button.

The flop came Kh-7h-8h and Sam quickly bet out 400. Meredith called. Both players checked the Jc on the turn. The river was the Ad and Sam checked again. Meredith fired 875 and Sam thought a moment before calling.

"Good call," said Meredith. "I have a seven."

Sam showed A-10 for a rivered pair of aces, which was good enough to take the pot.

Tim might very well have a panic attack as the ESPN just cut out during the UK game. If I had the technical capability to give you an audio feed of Tim's running commentary of the game I would, because it is pretty entertaining.

This is the second set Jason has flopped so far. He was involved in the big hand early on where Kevin "Mad Man" M made kings full Jason held deuces full of eights and made an incredible laydown that saved him from going broke.

Typically it would be final table time, but with the small field, everyone has agreed to play down to nine players before combining.

Kevin "Mad Man" M has already claimed a big potand the high hand when his kings full of eights bested Patrick "Shipwreck" K's trip eights.

On a flop of 5h-4c-3h Randy bet 5K, Paco moved all-in and Randy turne dover 6c7s for a flopped straight.

"I take that as a call?," I asked.

Randy raised to 5K from under the gun and got a call from Patrick in the big blind. The flop came Qc-6c-4d and Patrick moved all-in for 16K. Randy quickly called with KQ, which was ahead of Patrick's 6-7. The turn was the 5h and gave Patrick a straight draw, but it was not to be. The river was the Qs and Patrick was eliminated in 4th place.

One Over Appears to be Underrated

In a blind vs. blind confrontation Chris J raised to 4.5K and Patrick K moved all-in for 6.7K more. Chris thought for a while before calling with pocket sevens while Patrick held Ks2s....

....Which turned out to be good after the flop came Kd-8d-4s. The turn was the Ah and the river the 3h to give Patrick the pot and the new chiplead. Chris is left with just shy of 5K.

Remind me to reraise all-in with no fold equity and K-X in the near future.

Tristan Out

Chris called, Randy completed the small blind, and Tristan checked his option in the big blind. The flop came Qh-5d-5c and Randy checked. Tristan moved all-in for 6.4K and Chris thought some time before folding what he said was Q-10.

Turned out be a good fold as Randy quickly called with 5s10s, which was ahead of Tristan's QcJh. The turn was the 4s and the river the 4h, which gave Randy the pot. Tristan was eliminated in 6th place.

Double Cheeseburger

Chris J raised to 4.5K from under the gun and it folded around to Paco in the big blind. Paco moved all-in for 8.3K total and Chris called with Ac10c. Paco showed pocket jacks. The flop was Qc-Js-2h and Chris needed a king to make a straight and take the pot. The turn was the 7d and the river came 4c to give Paco the pot with his set of jacks. He now has around 18K while Chris sits with 15K or so.

I'm Back.

I moved all-in with pocket fours and Chris J called with AcQc. The fours managed to hold and I doubled to 18K.

Chris J Takes a Big Chip Lead

I missed the preflop action, but I can tell you that there was a raise and that Chris J and Patrick were inolved. The flop came out 8s-4c-3c and Chris fired a 3K or so bet and Shipwreck moved all-in. Chris decided he was committed and called with Kc6c which was in better shape than we all expected when Patrick turned up Ad-Jh for ace high. Chris picked up even more outs when the turn came 7d and he hit his flush with the Jc on the river.

Shipwreck was left with just over 4K while Chris now has 24K.

Cliff Out in 7th

Patrick "Shipwreck" K and Cliff got it all-in preflop with Patrick holding AK to Cliff's queens. The board ran out Kh-8d-4d-9c-Jh and Patrick doubled up once again while Cliff headed for the door.

Cliff raised to 2K in late position and Tristan moved all-in for 3.3K total. I then reraised all-in for 9.4K. Cliff folded and I was behind with AQ to Tristan's AK. The flop came 6-7-9 all clubs and I held the ace of clubs. I picked up even more outs when the six paired on the turn, but a king on the river gave Tristan the pot and the double up.

Shipwreck. I Only Say This Cause I Care:

STOP OVERVALUING KJ!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Especially when facing a raise from Allison, who hasn't played a hand the entire final table. Not gonna lie, when he reraised all-in it was not his finest move. Especially since Allison held pocket queens. However, a king spiked on the flop, she failed to improve, and she was left with only 400 chips.

She moved all-in blind the next hand and someone at the table reminded her she still had two hands before the blinds hit her to try to pick up something decent.

"Nah," she replied. "I'm hungry."

Clearly, Allison is a girl with her priorities in order.

Several people limped in the next hand and it checked around when the flop came Kh-10s-10d. A third ten, the 10h, peeled off on the turn and Randy made a probing bet. It was enough to get everyone to fold and Randy showed the 10d for quads while Allison was eliminated.

Tristan Doubles Again

Tristan moved all-in for his last 2,100 with the blinds at 300/600 and Chris J called in the big blind with 7c8c. He was live against Tristan's KdJs, but the board ran out Jd-8d-6c-6d-Kh and Tristan's top two pair was enough for the pot.

Shipwreck Needs a Better Disguise

Shipwreck just raised to 2K leaving 2.1K behind. He got some potential customers when both Randy and Tristan gave it some thought before folding to what we all agreed was either kings or aces.

"What did you fold Randy?," Patrick asked.

"Eights," Randy replied.

"And you couldn't call for 2K."

"Not when he knew you had kings or aces," I replied.

Oh, Hello. It's Me Again.

Tristan moved all-in from middle position and I shipped it all-in right behind him. He held AQ, I had aces and I became the fortunate benefactor of a cooler. Tristan quadrupled up the next hand when his Qd4d ran out a flush against Chris J's middle pair though, so don't feel too bad for him = )

Randy raised to 1.8K from UTG + 1 and Kevin moved all-in for nearly 6K behind him. It folded around to Chris J in the small blind and he thought a minute before moving all-in over the top. Randy folded and we had a classic race situation on our hand.

Chris held pocket tens, which were up against the AQ of Kevin. The board ran out Jh-Jd-7s-4s-7h and the tens held to eliminate Kevin in 9th place.

Tilt Happens

I am gonna be real here and say: The Baconator had a tiny case of tilt after doubling up Cliff. So, when Patrick "Shipwreck" K moved all-in, Kevin elected to call the almost 4K bet blind. Patrick's KJ looked good after a Q-J-10 flop and even better after a K came on the turn. The ace on the river put Broadway on the board though and Kevin turned up 4s7s to split the pot.

Baconator Goes Cliff Diving

Cliff raised to 1K from under the gun plus one and Kevin "The Baconator" R reraised to 5K total. Your faithful blogger tanked for a while before folding because she plays badly.

Cliff thinks for a minute, afraid that my tanking affects how many outs he had. He eventually called with AK and I regretted to inform him that was exactly what I folded. Kevin showed pocket eights, which held on the flop, but an ace came on the turn and Cliff douled up, leaving Kevin with only 4K or so.

Patrick "Shipwreck" K Doubles

Patrick's K-9 managed to pull out a straight against Kevin R's KQ to double up to 3.5K.

No 4peat Tonight

Rachel moved all-in from one of the blinds after a flop of 10h-6h-4h. Kevin "Baconator" R quickly called and Paco thought for some time before folding. Rachel showed 7-10 for top pair with no heart while Kevin had Ah9d for a flush draw. Kevin hit a 9 on the turn and a heart on the river to take the pot and eliminate Rachel.

She seemed a lil perturbed that Kevin called with just a flush draw, but kindly stayed around to deal until we got down to the final table (which we are now at)

Let me begin by sending out a cyber apology to Kevin "Mad Man" M for criticizing his play with 3s8s..

Chase (pictured)limped in from the cutoff, Tristan completed the small blind, and I checked my option in the big blind. The flop came A-7-X with two spades and it checked to Chase, who bet 800. Tristan folded and I moved all-in for around 2.2K more. Chase thought for some time before calling with A-9, no spade. I held....

3s8s. Again, sorry Kevin. I spiked an eight on the turn to pick up more outs and managed a 6s on the river to double up again.

Break Time

New High Hand

The hand following my double up, it folded around to Kevin "The Baconator" R who raised and committed himself to TPFKATMW who moved all-in blind for another 500 on top of the blind.

Tim was haunted by pocket tens again and this time he was once again behind with Ah4h. The board ran out Kc-Jc-10d-10c-4c and Kevin made quad tens to eliminate Tim and take the new high hand.

You Can't Get Enough of Me Baby

Tim, AKA TPFKATMW, moved all-in from under the gun with the blinds at 150/300for 2,250 and I called from late position for 1,450 total. My pocket tens manage to hold against his pocket 3s and I doubled up to have enough chips to open shove a lil' longer.

Cap'n Shippy McGee can sail the poker seas a lil' longer.

Glad I took the picture of Chris J early, because now you can't see him behin his MOUNTAIN OF CHIPS. He has over 13K, which I am fairly certain puts him in the chip lead.

Joe D Out

After being crippled in a hand earlier, Joe D was in left in the big blind with only 250 chips. I moved all-in from under the gun for 2.2K total and it folded around to Joe who.....folded and saved 50 chips for the next hand. Thanks Joe!

Unfortunately for him, he was not so lucky with his last hand when he was automatically all-in from the small blind. Tristan's ace high was good and Joe was eliminated.

Blinds Up

Chase raised in early position and Keith moved all-in from the small blind for 1525 more. Chase thought for a minute before calling with pocket tens. He was way behind Keith's pocket queens--until a ten peeled off on the flop. The A-J-10 flop gave Keith gutshot outs as well, but it was not to be and he was eliminated.

At Least Johnny Moss Works for Someone

With the blinds at 75/150 Meredith raised to 450 and Chase and Paco called from the blinds. The flop came 10h-2d-2s and I have to be honest here....I kinda missed what happened. I do know that Meredith moved all-in at some point, Chase folded at some point, and the last action was Paco calling Meredith's all-in with my favorite hand of all time, Ac-10d.

Unfortunately for Paco, it was behind Meredith's pocket jacks. However, because Johnny Moss has moments of magic, Paco managed to peel off an ace on the turn and suck out. The river was a meaningless 8c and Paco had Meredith covered, so she was eliminated.
